Svein's Farewell (08/01/2009)

F1's Norwegian International defender Svein Inge Egeland has returned back to Norway after his studies came to an end in England.

However, we hope to link up with Svein again in Summer 2009 when we will try to arrange a mini-tour to his homeland to play a couple of friendlies and experience local hospitality.

Thanks to Svein for his great attitude towards training and matches, he has shown a willingness to get involved and has never let anyone down with no-shows or ridiculous excuses. He will be a big miss. Here's what he had to say about his time with us...

"Little did I know that my four months in York would include anything else than seminars, lectures, library hours, Yorkshire Puddings and an occasional visit to the pub. I had not dared to think that I would get to play football in England, and not in my wildest dreams had I thought that a short email to a ‘what-to-do-in-York’website would result in 15 new friends and a bunch of happy memories. In one way or another this email made its way through to F1Racing via one or two very helpful, but still unknown, middlemen, and although there will forever be a big gap inside me every Sunday morning at 10.30 am, I'm very grateful that I got the chance to play alongside some of York's finest.

"So now, three weeks after my return to Norway, my best memories from those four months is not the togetherness in our class, it's not the overwhelming view of the university from on top of the library, it's not the nice people of York or York's high number of pubs, it's those Thursday evening training sessions and those muddy pitches on Sunday mornings where we so often fought, but so rarely won. So thank you for letting me be a part of F1 Racing, you made a good year even better".

-Svein Inge Egeland-

New club sponsor (03/09/2008)

For season 2008/09 F1 Racing FC are now sponsored by JMD Developments.

JMD are a Wetherby based company and recently did a great job in refurbishing F1 Racing @ Monks Cross.

JMD's logo's will appear on both the new Blue Home Shirt and the Red Away Shirt.

Club Shop (02/08/2007)

Please take timne out to visit the Club Shop feature on the website. It has a list of over a 1000 different websites (mostly all recognisable names) and if you do your CD or DVD ordering etc. if you could go through this site first which will then take you to the site you're purchasing from (such as Amazon, Play etc.)

A donation is then made from the website to club funds which would be a great bonus for any end of season trips / gatherings / new equipment.

I'm usually sceptical about these kind of sites (usually cos the websites are ones you've never heard of i.e

www.chriscoxguidetocommitment.com or yorksundayleaguefareallyareverywellorganised.co.uk)

but this is a really good way of adding to the clubs finances just for going to your chosen site thorugh this one.

Player Profiles (02/08/2007)

If anyone has anything to add or wants to change anything on their profile, email the site or get in touch and we'll update it

Club Shop Reminder (02/08/2007)

A reminder to everyone if you are doing any online shopping to go through this website first please!

There's currently over £40 amassed so far through this method and it is hoped we can achieve £250 by the end of the season.

Harry calls it a day (31/10/2006)

One of the original F1 Galacticos Paul 'Harold' Harrison has finally had to admit defeat in his battle to recover from a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in September 05 at Inland Revenue.

It's a massive loss for us as Harry was an excellent player and loyal servant to the club. Famed for having the hardest shot at the club and for being very tall as well as being able to play a bit we hope the big man will still come down and assist Bridgey if he ever fancies it and will always be part of the squad whether its team PNL's or offical cameraman!

All the best Harry from all at F1

The General quits (05/07/2006)

Midfield General Ben Coxon confirmed yesterday he has retired from the Sunday game to concentrate on Saturday's. 'Cocko' or 'Minjhunta' or 'The General' has been a big presence in the F1 midfield over the last 2 seasons and will be missed. He first made an impression on the infamous 'Meat n Mead 2' evening when he hueyed in Dave Johns bog for an hour b4 disappearing in town. We wish The Huntsman all the best and the door will be kept open for a return in the future.
