F1 were on a hiding to nothing this afternoon as they travelled up the A1 to play a classy Bedale Town outfit.

Beside the fact we were stepping up a few levels in class, it doesn't help when Tommy Sellers and Simon Nunns do no-shows and don't even bother informing the Gaffa of their unavailability. We already had 5 lads ruled out with injury and holiday but at least they let us know and we plan the squad accordingly. When people don't fancy a long trip out on a windy day it throws the planned line-up and tactics into total chaos meaning very last minute positional changes.

Huge credit to Dave Umpleby yesterday, not only for travelling, but for declaring himself OK to play the 90 minutes despite being unavailable with a calf injury.
